Our Story: A Lifelong Dream Turned Community Staple
For Dr. Timothy A. Fouts, becoming a veterinarian wasn’t just a career choice—it was a calling. Growing up in suburban Cincinnati, he cared for the family pets from a young age and quickly discovered a passion for helping animals. After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 and completing an internship in small animal medicine and surgery, Dr. Fouts refined his skills at a bustling California referral and general practice, where he gained extensive experience in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
In 1996, Dr. Fouts and his wife, Lynn, relocated to Clermont County with a vision: to build a veterinary hospital rooted in compassion, high-quality medicine, and community connection. On November 11, 1996, Hillside Small Animal Hospital opened its doors—staffed only by Dr. Fouts, his wife Lynn, and his mother, who assisted part-time. From these humble beginnings, the practice steadily grew into a trusted and thriving hospital serving generations of local families.
