Meet Our Veterinarians

As trusted veterinarians in Batavia, OH, we take pride in building long-term relationships with pets and their families through clear communication, clinical expertise, and genuine compassion. Get to know our full team by reading below.

Dr. Tim Fouts

Tim Fouts, DVM

A native of Anderson Township, Ohio, Dr. Tim Fouts chose to go west after veterinary school to do an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group. It was there he cared for pets owned by such celebrities as Joan Rivers, Sheena Easton, Greg Louganis, Ice-T, Joanna Cassidy, Robert Culp, Eva Gabor, Shelly Hack, Aaron Spelling (and his daughter, Tori), to name a few.

From there, he went to a busy referral practice in Monrovia, California, located in suburban L.A. County, where he gained extensive experience in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, working for six years under the late Dr. Raymond Weitkamp, an accomplished veterinary surgeon. After meeting and marrying his wife, Lynn, a California native, he was able to convince her that Ohio offered a friendlier, smog-free way of life. They now live in Loveland with a cat named “Boo”, and their two dogs, “Patch” and “June”.

Aside from working as a veterinarian and practice-owner, Dr. Fouts is an amateur photographer, but he probably draws the most satisfaction in life from being a husband and father. He is also an avid golfer, as is his wife. They have two sons. One is a computer science engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, and the other is an aerospace engineer, working for SpaceX.

Dr. Emily Hopping

Emily Hopping, DVM

Dr. Emily Hopping is a 2003 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, she practiced at a small animal clinic in Dayton. She and her husband decided to move to Washington in 2004 to enjoy the great outdoors before having a family. She practiced at a busy, multi-doctor small animal clinic in Anacortes, Washington, for 3 years. They moved to the Cincinnati area in the fall of 2007 to be near family after the birth of their first son in January 2007.

Dr. Hopping joined Hillside Small Animal Hospital in November 2007 as a part-time associate. Her specific interests include ophthalmology and dentistry. She has enjoyed the flexibility of working part-time while still being able to be a mom. When she’s not working, she can be found enjoying the outdoors at their area parks with her family. She resides in Bethel with her husband, Kelly, two sons, dog “Hanson” (pictured here with her), and a cat, “Samish”.

Administrative Staff

Lynn

Lynn Fouts

Lynn Fouts is the practice manager for Hillside Small Animal Hospital. She grew up in Arcadia, CA, which is just east of Los Angeles. She graduated with her B.S. in Management in 1995 from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA. She met her husband, Dr. Timothy Fouts, in 1991 while working at a very busy small animal practice in Monrovia, CA. They married in 1995 and moved to the Cincinnati area in 1996. They opened Hillside Small Animal Hospital that fall. They have two sons. One is a computer science engineering student at the University of Cincinnati, and the other is an aerospace engineer, working for SpaceX. Their furry family includes their Pit Bull “Patch” (pictured with her); Border Collie Mix, June, and their cat, Boo.

When she’s not working, you may find her out on the golf course. She thoroughly enjoys the peace and serenity she feels on the golf course, playing with her friends every week in her league. She is also a certified Jazzercise instructor. She started teaching in January 2007 and loves the way Jazzercise makes her feel. It keeps her fit and is a wonderful stress outlet.

Veterinary Technicians

LeAnne Young
LeAnne Young

LeAnne Young has been a registered veterinary technician (RVT) at Hillside Small Animal Hospital since February 2007. Previous to working for Dr. Fouts, she had seven years of experience at a veterinary hospital in Lebanon. In addition to her time in animal hospitals, she has also volunteered at CircleTail, a local assistance dog training organization that is also involved in some canine rescue efforts. She and her husband reside in Lynchburg with their many dogs and cats.

Michelle
Michelle Baker

Michelle Baker is a registered veterinary technician at Hillside. She has been there for quite some time. She started out as an assistant in May of 2006 and obtained her Vet Tech license in 2008. She went to UC Raymond Walters (UC Blue Ash) for her degree. She chose this career because animals have always been a big part of her life. She grew up on a farm with cows, chickens, and pigs. She always had a lot of cats, dogs, and even rabbits. Animals are definitely one of her passions.

In Michelle’s free time, she loves to sing—whether it be singing karaoke somewhere, in church, or for weddings, she loves it. She’s been married since June 2012, and she and her husband Brian have 1 son named Jett. He’s 6 years old, and he’s a total blast and joy in their lives. They have 2 cats and 2 dogs. Greta and Tyson are the kitties, Mona and Cora are the dogs. They may be mutts—but as far as Michelle is concerned, that’s the best kind of dog!

Mia
Mia McCammon

Mia McCammon is currently enrolled at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash to get her vet tech degree. She should be graduating in the spring of 2021. Pictured with her is her little dog Molly. She has inspired her to fulfill her career by showing so much unconditional love. She never knew she could love an animal so much. She has taught her so much, and if it wasn’t for her, Mia would not be working in veterinary medicine. Mia enjoys working at Hillside Small Animal Hospital because she is getting great experience as an assistant. The employees and doctors treat her like family, and she has enjoyed her time there so far and looks forward to her future at the clinic.

She has been working there since May 2024. She grew up always being around animals and knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field ever since she was a little girl. She is from Bethel, OH, but now resides in Peebles, OH with her husband, Colten. In her free time, Aubrie can be found either cooking or baking, spending time with family, or doing something outdoors with her husband. She has a dog named Cleo and 2 cats named Chester and Callie.

Olivia Anderson

Olivia Anderson is a veterinary assistant. Pictured with her is Deja, who came to her as a foster puppy at 8 weeks and ended up being a foster fail, along with her 4 other dogs. She has always wanted to work in the animal world in some way; growing up, her house was always full of animals, and for a while, her family even fostered dogs. She currently has 4 dogs: Deja, Maggie, Meatball, and Lulu. She also has 2 cats, Nala and Fester, and 2 hamsters, Flash and Dumbo. She plans to hopefully grow at Hillside and attend college to get her veterinary technician license. She is very grateful for the opportunity to work there.

Keara Wilson
Keara Wilson

She resides in Adams County with her husband Nick, two dogs (Milah, pictured) and Dixie, as well as their cat named Cinnamon, but she only responds to Kitty. In Keara’s free time, she rides and shows horses and hangs out with her family. She is going to enroll in the Penn Foster Vet Tech program soon. Hillside has taught her so much already, and she can’t wait to grow more in the field.
